Barbara E. Keon specializes in domestic relations law, handling cases involving divorce, custody, contempt, and modification of support and custody. She served as Assistant District Attorney in South Carolina for four years before entering private practice in Georgia in 1985.
Ms. Keon is respected for her thorough, business-like approach to the practice of law. She has built a reputation for aggressively representing her clients' interests, both in settlement and in trial.
Most of Ms. Keon's cases involve divorce, custody, modification of custody and contempt. She also frequently writes and speaks on family law issues. She has been featured on WNNX radio, WSB-GLTV, WTBS, WXIA-TV ("Noonday") and GCTV as an expert on divorce matters has lectured before the Real Estate Section of the State Bar of Georgia on marital rights to real property and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia on Equitable Division of Property. She has been published in Women of Greater Atlanta, Today's Atlanta Women, the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Verdict magazine, and featured in the Fulton Daily Report.
Ms. Keon received her law degree in 1979 from the University of South Carolina and her undergraduate degree in 1975 from Wake Forest University, where she graduated cum laude. She is a member of the bar associations of Georgia and South Carolina, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, The Lawyer's Club of Atlanta and the Atlanta Bar Association, where she is a member of the Litigation and Domestic Relations sections. She is a member of the Atlanta Women's Commerce Club.
